RajWest Power Limited
RajWest Power Ltd. (RWPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Ltd. is putting up a 1080 MW (8 Units of each 135 MW)
Lignite based pit head power plant at Village Bhadresh in Barmer district, Rajasthan. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 5000 Crores.
Demographic profile
Nearest railway station is Barmer and is at a distance of 28 kms from the site. Plant site is close to the national highway (NH-15)
connecting Barmer and Jaisalmer.
It has Circulating fluidising bed combustion Boiler. The technology is appropriate considering the choice of Fuel.
Total about 1186 acres of land has been acquired for the Project area. The consumptive water requirement for the plant with closed
cooling water system is estimated as 80 cusec. The source of water for the power plant is Indira Gandhi Nahar Pariyojana (IGNP) canal near
Mohangarh located about 184 km from the power plant site. Water will be pumped from the intake pumping station located near Mohangarh and
intermediate pumping stations will be provided to deliver water to the in plant raw water storage reservoir.

Livelihood
60 women have been trained in 6 tailoring centers in the village
15 villagers have been trained in one carpentry center and 10 in electrician training center at the village
Linkage with local market to provide regular orders to the trained villagers.
20 trainees have earned income of Rs 50,000 approximately in the last 6 months from the market.
